NIALL BROWN grew up fishing with football star Phil Foden, but now he is looking for a different hook to be the latest star from Stockport.
The middleweight hopeful has his next outing in the ring this Friday night when he faces Jonathan Bouillot on the undercard of gym-mate Lyndon Arthur's clash with Liam Cameron in Bolton.
Brown is another product of the Edgeley area of Stockport where Manchester City and England ace Foden grew up.
The City star is a regular at his friend's fights and seeing him go on to achieve what he has for club and country is an inspiration for Brown.
"I've known him since I can remember," said Brown, who trains under Pat Barrett at Collyhurst and Moston Boxing Club in Manchester.
"We grew up in the same area.
We used to knock about playing football and fishing. He's gone on to do massive things and I'm buzzing for him.
