British tanks are spearheading drive into Russia

BRITISH tanks are helping Ukraine with its crossborder blitz against Vladimir Putin’s forces.

The 62.5-ton Challenger 2s have been deployed across Russia’s north-east border as the drive into the Kursk region continued.

Britain donated 14 tanks last year . One was destroyed in battle last summer and it is unclear how many are taking part in the new attack.

The 82nd Air Assault Brigade, which has been operating British tanks, has been involved in the ongoing incursion. UK policy allows Kyiv’s forces to use British weapons on Russian soil, with the exception of Storm Shadow missiles.
