JAI FIELD helped champions Wigan rise from their slumber to go joint-top of Super League.

Matt Peet's side endured a miserable first half against last season's beaten Grand Finalists Catalans, making countless soft handling errors.

But after falling 8-0 behind, Luke Thompson's try got them in touch before the break.

And then Field helped take control in a ruthless second-half performance versus their fellow title challengers.

England scrum-half Harry Smith put Wigan in front with a classic chip-and-chase try in the 45th minute.

Soon after, Field produced a brilliant floated pass to invite ex-Catalans centre Adam Keighran in for another try in the Aussie centre's first appearance against his former team.
