ANGELA Rayner yesterday vowed to fight the election for the generation to come after 14 years of Tory hell has hit youngsters as hard as anyone.
The Labour Deputy Leader's message of hope comes amid a depressing backdrop of rising child poverty, crumbling schools, teacher shortages and axed Sure Start centres.
Ms Rayner also promised to tackle the cost of living crisis so more families can enjoy life and escape the misery of financial struggle.
In her first interview of the General Election campaign, she said: "I'm fighting this election for my kids and your kids. We need to do this for the next generation. Most kids have only known life under the Tories."
Speaking of the cost of living crisis, Ms Rayner added: "Cultural experiences and places where people can have fun are really important.
"The fun's been taken out of life, lately. Working families should be able to enjoy their life. You should be able to go on holiday.
