GOING FOR BROOK

HARRY BROOK will lead England in the upcoming one-day series against Australia as the white-ball set-up build for the future under incoming coach Brendon McCullum.

England were denied a T20 series win at Old Trafford yesterday, drawing 1-1 with the tourists after a decider was lost to rain without a ball being bowled.

But Brook's shot at the main job, standing in for the injured Jos Buttler (right), will form part of longer-term planning as they look to the next cycle of whiteball cricket. Marcus Trescothick (right, above), acting coach until McCullum takes over in January, t suggested Brook's audition g during the series which starts on Thursday at Trent Bridge will be instructive for both player and management.
