Here we grow

RACHEL Reeves will today lay bare Tory mismanagement of our economy as their failure to produce growth let slip £58billion which could have boosted public services.

And in her opening speech as the first female Chancellor, she will vow to urgently put that right in a bid to improve the lives of people everywhere.

The tax lost by the blundering Tories could have improved everything from the NHS to schools and councils.

But instead they were left to struggle by on shrinking budgets that led to staff exoduses, huge waiting lists, crumbling classrooms and bankrupt local authorities.

In her speech to business leaders in London, Ms Reeves is to outline her plan to kickstart the flagging economy She will say: "We face the legacy of 14 years of chaos and economic irresponsibility.

"New Treasury analysis I requested over the weekend exposed the opportunities lost from this failure.
