HOPE AT LAST ON CEASEFIRE

UKRAINIAN President Volodymyr Zelensky last night threw his sup- port behind Donald Trump's push for a limited ceasefire with Russia.
After speaking for the first time since their White House bust-up on February 28, Zelensky described their phone call as “positive” and “frank”.
He posted on X: “One of the first steps toward fully ending the war could be ending strikes on energy and other civilian infra- structure. I supported this step, and Ukraine confirmed that we are ready to implement it.
“We believe such steps are necessary to create the possibility for a comprehensive peace agreement to be prepared during the ceasefire.”
America has proposed that both sides halt attacks on energy facilities and infrastructure as a first step toward a broader peace deal.
President Trump and Russian coun- terpart Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone on Tuesday, while Zelensky spoke to the US leader yesterday.
