I could've helped Huw..I had a breakdown too

ITV'S Tom Bradby believes he could have helped fellow news anchor Huw Edwards through his mental health crisis, having suffered a breakdown himself.

Huw, 62, ended up in hospital last summer with "serious mental health issues" after he was involved in an explicit photos scandal.

And Tom, 57, thinks he could have advised him, just as he has helped other colleagues.

He said: "You think about the world differently once you've had a breakdown and spent a lot of time talking about the stresses and strains we place on ourselves." Huw would normally be the BBC's main election night presenter - Tom's main opposition but he has left the corporation.

Tom's 2018 breakdown followed the death of his parents, which triggered his insomnia.
