Potter admits he must trade in some of Chelsea's bloated squad

GRAHAM POTTER has admitted for the first time that Chelsea will have to sell players this summer.

And the Blues boss accepts some of them could even be lining up against his side next term for a Premier League rival.

Mason Mount is currently wanted by both Manchester United and Liverpool.

And the future of players such as Mateo Kovacic, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Ruben Loftus-Cheek remain in doubt.

The Blues need to bring in funds after spending more than £500million on signings under their new owners.

And Potter believes his squad, which may not be playing in Europe next season, is just too big. He said: "The number in the squad is not optimal, whatever competition we are in.
