A MOROCCAN asylum seeker who sought "revenge" for the Israel-Hamas conflict has been convicted of murdering a pensioner.
Ahmed Alid, 45, deliberately targeted Terence Carney, 70 - who was stabbed six times - eight days after Israel responded to Hamas' cross-border raid, a court heard.
The victim, walking in a town centre, cried out "No, no!" as he was knifed by the stranger.
Minutes earlier, Alid broke into the bedroom of a housemate at their asylum seekers' accommodation in Hartlepool, Co Durham.
