Tory: Lying to Mirror isn't a crime

BARONESS Mone has admitted she stands to benefit from around £60million in profit from the notorious PPE deals she helped set up.

But the Tory peer said lying to the Mirror about her links to PPE Medpro was "not a crime".

She claims she and her husband have been made "scapegoats" for the Government's wider failings over PPE.

The pair are being probed by the National Crime Agency on suspicion of fraud and bribery. And PPE Medpro, which won £202m of Covid contracts in 2020, is being sued in the High Court by the Department of Health and Social Care for breach of contract for allegedly supplying nonsterile gowns.
