INNOCENT Ashley Dale was shot dead by a hitman who had intended to kill her partner over a feud reignited at Glastonbury, a court has heard.
The council worker, 28, was blasted in the abdomen in her own home, collapsing in the garden.
James Whitham, 41, has admitted being the gunman but denies murder. He has instead pleaded guilty to manslaughter, claiming he shot Ms Dale by mistake.
The prosecution allege the actual target was her partner Lee Harrison.
Liverpool crown court heard Ms Dale was at Glastonbury in June last year when Mr Harrison's rival Niall Barry, 27, allegedly turned up and threatened to "stab him up".
