A GUNMAN was hunted for 13 hours by police after unleashing a night of terror where he opened fire in a shop and pointed a gun at cinema staff.
Armed police declared a major incident and urged people to stay indoors while they tracked down the shooter with two helicopters.
A 49-year-old man was arrested early yesterday morning in Liverpool.
Police said the incident was not terror-related and no one was injured.
Chilling CCTV showed a man in a green coat and flip-flops calmly walking into newsagents with a large black gun before firing at the counter. Merseyside Police said they were called at 8.30pm to the Norris Green area following reports a man had threatened a shop assistant.
