TV doctor Michael Mosley has vanished on a Greek holiday island, with police fearing he might have "fallen from a height" while hiking.
A major search and rescue operation continued last night for the popular medic, 67, famed for his 5:2 Diet.
Four police officers, eight firefighters with a drone and eight volunteers are among those participating in the hunt.
A police dog and a helicopter will also assist in the mountainous region.
Dr Mosley set off along Agios Nikolaos Beach on the isle of Symi at 1.30pm on Wednesday. His wife, Dr Clare Bailey, 62, raised the alarm after he failed to return at 7.30pm.
Senior police spokesman Constantina Dimoglidou said: "There is just no trace of him. That means every potential scenario is open and being investigated.
"He may have slipped, tripped, fallen, even bitten by a snake, remaining injured somewhere."
Crews were yesterday searching on foot and in water, using sophisticated equipment.
