Obama adds drama

BARACK and Michelle Obama's star power transcended the Democratic National Convention as they gave speeches bringing hope to a divided America.

"Something magical is in the air, isn't it?" said Michelle as she shared the Chicago stage with Barack to endorse Kamala Harris - while they also savaged Donald Trump.

Barack said: "[Trump] has not stopped whining about his problems since he came down the golden escalator to announce his first campaign. It has been a constant stream of gripes and grievances that's been getting worse now he's afraid of losing to Kamala.

"There are the childish nicknames, the crazy conspiracy theories, this weird obsession with crowd sizes." He added: "Donald Trump sees power as nothing more than a means to his ends. We do not need four more years of bluster and bumbling and chaos. We have seen that movie before and we all know that the sequel is usually worse." Barack also attacked Trump for helping end the bipartisan immigration bill that would have tightened border security "because he felt that trying to solve the problem would hurt his campaign." He highlighted his signature piece of healthcare legislation, the Affordable Care Act, which Trump tried to rip up early in his presidency.
