A FAMILY targeted during the riots say they are scared to go out after far-right thugs smashed up their home and car.
Rupa Barua, 31, husband Remu, 36, and their 18-month-old daughter Ridita hid upstairs with Remu's parents as extremists hurled six bricks through their windows, banged on their door and wrecked their Nissan Micra.
Their home is now boarded up and they now have no car as they have been told the damage was not covered under their third party insurance.
Now a fundraising appeal has been launched to help the family, originally from Bangladesh, who have been left footing the bill for the disorder in Middlesbrough.
Rupa, a carer, said: "It has affected my whole family, our car is broken and I can't use it for work. I'm having to pay for taxis.
