SHE may be known for her partying past, but Sara Cox is enjoying a more chilled approach as she turns 50 today.
It is the DJ and presenter's milestone birthday and she is celebrating with a low-key dinner with close friends, followed by a horse riding trip to Spain next year.
She said: "Funnily enough. I had a massive party for my 49th last year.
"I was like, I don't want a big 50th.
We had the best Dolly Parton impersonator. People thought I'd got Dolly, they thought I dropped a couple of million on my birthday party.
"There were a few people who couldn't come to my party so I'm just doing a big dinner at home.
"I'm definitely going to stretch it out until September - I'm going horse riding with a bunch of friends in Spain, which is something I've always wanted to do.
"And I am starting an art class in the new year. I always regretted not doing GCSE art.
"I do have to write a book as well."
PRIVILEGE
It's all a sign that life is as busy as ever for Sara as she hits 50.
As well as her BBC Radio 2 drivetime show, she has a BBC Two book programme, Between the Covers.
