Serial rapist cop held a handgun to victim's head

Court told woman had feared for her life, 'No trust' in police after 18yr 'evil' reign

A VICTIM of serial rapist police officer David Carrick told how he held a gun to her head and said he would be the last thing she saw. 

Carrick, 48, lured the woman to his flat saying he was the “safest person” she could be with because he was an officer but then threatened her with the weapon when she tried to leave.

In a victim impact statement, she said: “That night, I felt I had encountered evil. I honestly thought he was going to kill me that night.

“I felt lucky to be able to leave the next morning as I didn’t believe I would be doing so. I felt so ashamed, dirty and sick.”

Other women said they had lost trust in the police after their ordeals.

Some of his victims watched from the public gallery at Southwark crown court in South London yesterday as Carrick bowed his head in the dock.

The court heard how the PC was able to use “power and control” bestowed on him as an officer to carry out a “catalogue of violent and brutal sexual” attacks over 18 years.
