ENGLAND heroes Peter Shilton and John Stones surprised 300 homeless footballers at a charity tournament yesterday.
Manchester City defender Stones was mobbed by fans who invited him for a five-a-side kickabout on the astroturf.
The 29-year-old bowed out, joking "I wouldn't be much use" due to a groin injury - but posed for selfies and signed shirts.
The players took part in the Salvation Army's Partnership Trophy at GOALS Manchester, near City's Etihad Stadium. The tournament works with boss Pep Guardiola's Sala Foundation to bring vulnerable people together for a day of football.
Ex-goalie Shilton, 74, cheered on teams from the sidelines.
Gary Bourton, 51, from Reading, Berks, told the Mirror: "He was my childhood hero. I never dreamed I'd meet him and get him to sign my shirt."
