A FOOTBALL hooligan who mocked child mascot Bradley Lowery has been handed a suspended sentence and banned from attending future matches.
Dale Houghton, 32, admitted a public order offence after holding up a photo of Bradley, who died in 2017 at the age of six after being diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
Sheffield Wednesday fan Houghton was pictured grinning while using the image to taunt fans of rival Sunderland, Bradley's team.
Yesterday, a judge branded his behaviour "utterly appalling" before handing him a 12-week jail term, suspended for 18 months, and ordering him to do 200 hours' unpaid work. The Wednesday season ticket holder was also given a five-year football banning order.
