ST HELENS signing Lewis Murphy says he has never been hungrier to shine after a frustrating spell in Australia.

The lightning quick winger has started pre-season training with Paul Wellens (inset, right) side after linking up on a two-year deal from Sydney Roosters.

He was regarded as one of the best young talents around when the NRL giants announced his signing from Wakefield last April for the 2024 campaign.

But, just a month earlier, Murphy suffered a seasonending ACL injury with Trinity meaning he was always playing catch-up when he arrived international, instead flourishing for the Roosters.

He was limited to just seven games in reserve grade but is now ready to make up for lost time, and maintains he learned plenty from working at the star-studded club.
