£150m boost from private school tax

HOLYROOD will receive a £150million windfall if Sir Keir Starmer becomes Prime Minister and slaps VAT on private school fees.

Shadow Scotland Secretary lan Murray revealed the planned cash boost yesterday as he urged Humza Yousaf's Government to spend the cash on state schools.

Independent schools receive a range of lucrative tax breaks for being classed as charities.

With Starmer signalling a Labour government would have little money to spend, his party is aiming to raise £1.5billion across the UK by adding tax to fees.
