DONALD Trump was last night ordered to pay a woman £3.9million after jurors in a US civil trial ruled he sexually assaulted her.
But the panel rejected claims the former president raped E. Jean Carroll.
Trump reacted with fury to the ruling, branding it "the greatest witch-hunt of all time".
The verdict made him the first former US president to be confirmed as a sex predator.
Jurors ruled Trump, 76, did sexually assault and defame advice columnist E.
Jean Carroll and awarded her £3.9million in compensation: a verdict which could have ramifications in his bid to rerun for the White House in next year's election.
Within minutes of the announcement from New York's lower Manhattan courthouse, an angry Trump posted a tirade in capital letters on his social media platform Truth Social.
Claiming he did not even know Carroll, Trump wrote: "I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN IS. THIS VERDICT IS A DISGRACE, A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!"
