ASTON MARTIN have opened negotiations with Max Verstappen over a sensational move to the Silverstone-based team.

And the three-time world champion could be tempted, with an agreement for design guru Adrian Newey to move to Aston Martin looking a done deal.

The Essex-born engineer's switch is expected to be officially announced next month but Aston owner Lawrence Stroll is not stopping at poaching Newey from Red Bull.

The billionaire Canadian businessman wants Verstappen too, with contract talks already underway.

With Honda engaged in an exclusive partnership to power Aston from 2026, and Newey (right) attached to the project, it is easy to see why Verstappen would view the opportunity as one worth exploring.
