Third MSP joins battle to lead the Scots Tories

THE Tories are set for a “summer of strife” after a third MSP entered their bitter leadership contest.

Meghan Gal lacher promised a “reset” if she wins and claimed she is the “bold” leader the party needs.

The vacancy arose after Douglas Ross said he would quit in the middle of the general election.

Russell Findlay, the party’s justice spokesman, has been the frontrunner and is considered the favourite of the party establishment.

South Scotland MSP Brian Whittle, a former athlete, also declared his candidacy this week.
