ABERDEEN.....2 LIVINGSTON....1
LIVINGSTON'S coach broke down on the way to Aberdeen but Bojan Miovski's double left them on the Pittodrie hard shoulder.
It was the Dons who found the fast lane as a second consecutive Premiership win lifted them to eighth.
Top scorer Miovski's brace cancelled out Kris Guthrie's opener and sunk the league's bottom side.
It was the perfect reaction from the Dons and gaffer Barry Robson who had been in the firing line after an abject Viaplay Cup Final defeat to Rangers at the weekend.
Aberdeen are also out of Europe and the message from the Pittodrie boardroom was clear that their league form had to improve dramatically.
They have struggled to fight on all fronts but, with only the league until the break, there can be no excuses.
The Dons are now a lot closer to the top six and if they win their games in hand they will be back in the mix.
That has to be the immediate aim before loftier peaks are climbed.
David Martindale will just be glad to see the back of this trip.
Livingston had come up on Tuesday night but the Lions' bus broke down in Dundee. Players then had to wait for a replacement to be sourced so they could complete their trip north.
Livi still made a game of it though and if they had taken their chances then they could have left with something.
The Lions will take confidence from their performance ahead of Saturday's visit to Celtic.
Aberdeen now need to keep momentum going when they hit the road to Dundee on Saturday.
