Resale platform urged to call in cops

TICKET resale platform Viagogo has been urged to turn over the con artists ripping off Scots fans or face the music.

The calls come after the Daily Record revealed the latest wave of scams targeting music fans on the tout site, with many thousands of "spec" tickets being illegally offered for sale.

The platform took down some listings but allowed many more to remain on sale. "Spec selling" involves crooks offering tickets they don't own and have never bought - and has led to several major touts being jailed.

But Viagogo has hosted adverts listing millions of pounds worth of illegal briefs. The latest pressure comes after PM Keir Starmer pledged to consider a 10 per cent profit cap on all ticket resales effectively killing off touting on secondary sales platforms.
