The Glaswegian completed an amazing Olympic journey from 34th in the women's 10,000m at Rio 2016 to the podium in Paris.

Her proud parents Alex and Ann consoled her back then but got to celebrate with her in Paris.

Beth, who watched the triathlon in Rio, decided then to give it a go.

Speaking just after she crossed the line on the Alexander III Bridge, where the Eiffel Tower provides a memorable backdrop, Beth, 32, said: "It was just a wall of noise out there today.

"Gold would have been great but I got a bronze medal at the Olympics.

"I am just so happy with that. The Brownlees have both been such a big part of my journey.
