BUTCHER CHARGED WITH ABDUCTION OF 11-YEAR-OLD

A "TRANSGENDER" butcher has appeared in court charged with abduction after an 11-year-old girl went missing for more than 27 hours in the Borders.

Andrew Miller appeared in private during a brief hearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court yesterday after being charged in connection with the 11-year-old's disappearance.

He was remanded in custody and will be sent to a male jail in line with new Scottish Government guidance on trans women accused of crimes of violence towards females.

Miller, of Gattonside, who also identifies as a woman called Amy George, is also facing a charge of threatening and abusive behaviour.
