Butland says Gers will be Defiant Ones

JACK BUTLAND insists "defiant" Rangers are out to salvage some pride when they take on Celtic at Hampden.

The Ibrox No.1 and his team-mates were forced to watch on with envy on Saturday as Brendan Rodgers' Parkhead squad took possession of yet another league crown.

All the Light Blues have managed this term is a Viaplay Cup triumph but there is still one more prize up for grabs in Saturday's Scottish Cup final.

To claim that, though, Rangers will have to do something they've failed to do in four previous attempts this season and get the better of their Old Firm rivals. But Butland insists his side are up for the challenge.

Asked to sum up the mood in the Ibrox camp after Saturday's 3-3 draw with Hearts saw the Light Blues limp home eight points behind the Hoops, he said: "There's a bit of all sorts in there.

"Ultimately there is defiance, there is frustration because you've come so close. I know the table perhaps won't look like that at the minute but we had our moments and we had our opportuniies.
