Shocking CCTV taken at the scene showed a vehicle mowing down people in the crowded space.
The horrific incident unfolded at the market in Magdeburg, east Germany, last night.
Dozens of emergency workers were seen at the site of the crash as unconfirmed reports emerged that as many as 11 people may have been killed.
The driver, reportedly a 50-year-old Saudi doctor, who came to Germany in 2006, has been arrested.
It's not yet known if the crash was be terror-related.
