A PAEDOPHILE Celtic youth football coach died alone at a top security jail with multiple health conditions.
James McCafferty, 76, who also worked at Falkirk and Hibs, was found dead in bed in HMP Glenochil, Clackmannanshire, at 4am on November 19, 2022, by staff carrying out checks.
A fatal accident inquiry at Falkirk Sheriff Court heard McCafferty had been "in very poor health", needed a walking frame or a wheelchair to get around, was suffering from mild to severe dementia, had suffered a series of strokes, multiple hospital admissions for sepsis, and needed daily nursing.
He also had a benign brain tumour, known as a frontal lobe meningioma.
