ANGE POSTECOGLOU admits the handball law has left him baffled after VAR gave Arsenal a controversial penalty in this derby thriller.

The Tottenham boss was unhappy the decision went against Cristian Romero after a lengthy VAR check.

Gunners winger Bukayo Saka slammed home the spot-kick but Postecoglou bemoaned a lack of consistency on handball decisions.

VAR Paul Tierney checked for a foul on James Maddison in the build-up, a possible deflection before Ben White's shot hit Romero's hand and also whether the Spurs defender should have been sent off-which he could have been if Yves Bissouma was not behind him.

Ex-Celtic gaffer Postecoglou said: "I've got no idea about the handball rule. I really don't. I saw the one yesterday at Wolves and it just seems if it hits your hand it's a penalty and then other times if it hits your hand it isn't a penalty.

"I've got no idea. It is the one rule in the game I just don't understand. Unless we start developing armless defenders I don't know how you are supposed to block things and be in a natural position. It is what it is.
