A POLICE dog and his hero handler who crawled through woods with a broken heel to find a missing woman have been commended for bravery at Crufts.
Constable Carly Fulton and canine companion PD Ben were called out in Lanarkshire last year to assist a major search for a vulnerable woman.
While navigating tricky terrain, the constable suffered an injury - which included torn ligaments - after losing her footing in thick undergrowth.
