A HEARTBROKEN family have issued a mental health plea following the sudden death of their talented young footballer son.
Robbie Meiklem, who played for Girvan FC's under-20s development team, passed away at Ayr Hospital last Saturday.
Dad Rab Meiklem shared the devastating news on social media as he paid tribute to his son who he described as a loving a caring young man.
The father also issued an emotional plea to parents to "cuddle your children tonight and tell them you love them" following the death of his son who gave off' no signs F or clues of struggling with his mental health.
Robbie had spent three days on life support.
