CUP FINAL TERROR

CHRISTMAS shoppers dived for safety yesterday as Old Firm fans clashed hours before the Scottish League Cup final.

Police raced to Glasgow's Argyle Street and attempted to separate sets of supporters before the 3.30pm kick-off at Hampden.

Festive shoppers could be seen hiding in nearby shops.

In one video clip, football fans can be seen running down the busy shopping street wearing Santa hats and setting off flares.

Following the disturbance, a large group of Rangers fans can be seen being escorted up Union Street towards Central Station to be put on trains for Mount Florida.

Chief Superintendent Stevie Dolan authorised officers to use stop-and-search powers to prevent further disorder.
