GLASGOW'S Low Emission Zone will reduce the risk of city residents getting lung cancer from breathing in traffic fumes, eco campaigners claim.
But the controversial plans have been met with a fierce backlash, with critics warning it will damage trades like taxis, hospitality and retail.
Coming into effect on June 1, the LEZ will cover most of the city centre and vehicles that don't comply will be banned from the area.
