27 Lions hero De Lucas gutted as Saints level in yet another late show Ses
EXTRA WHINE

LUIYI DE LUCAS admits insult was added to injury time after he'd tapped in what looked like a late winner for Livingston over St Mirren.

But the Lions defender has learned the hard way the clock has been reset this season in football and 90 minutes are now a thing of the past.

VAR stoppages as well as time wasting, prolonged goal celebrations, substitutions or injury disruptions now have games going well beyond the distance and the 29-year was left cursing his luck and referee Nick Walsh's watch.

A first Livi goal for the Dominican Republic international triggered a moment of ecstasy only for nine minutes extra being announced that allowed Stav Nahmani to bag the Buddies a point.

De Lucas insists his side only have themselves to blame for throwing away their winning position and he believes players will have to get used to working overtime due to the latest missive from FIFA that makes Fergie Time seem like a fleeting glance.

He said: "I was really excited after we scored but then they scored and the feeling totally changed.

"That ruined the moment for me because we didn't get the result we wanted. We had defended really well for the whole game and then we lost the goal so late. As a team we need to focus on those set-pieces and in these moments, we need to do better.
