A MUM cleared of murder has been jailed for 28 months for lying about having a baby to dupe men into handing over cash.
Angela Newlands was locked up for the "despicable" 18-month campaign which also included the theft of eight cockapoo pups.
Sheriff George Way also imposed a year-long supervised release order.
He said: "She had a preconceived plan she used to repeatedly take advantage of people who thought they were helping someone in distress.
