LUKE ROBINSON helped shut down Celtic on a daunting debut after a year out the game.

Now he's bidding to blank out Rangers since establishing himself as a star of St Johnstone's revival.

Away days at the Old Firm were exactly the occasions Robinson wanted to savour when tempted from Wigan on loan.

But even he felt thrown in at the deep end as he started at Parkhead for threadbare Saints four days after signing - and on comeback from serious injury.

Saints stifled Celts to score a stalemate under Steven MacLean when the team was toiling.

So on the back of lifting themselves to eighth with Craig Levein there's no fears about tackling Viaplay Cup winners Rangers.

Robinson, 22, recalled: "I knew early on that week I had a very good chance of playing against Celtic. I wasn't coming here to be a number. I wanted to play.
