And no doubt the BBC star, who caused chaos for his bosses for criticising the Government's Rwanda asylum plan, felt vindicated after the Supreme Court ruled yesterday that it is unlawful.
Gary, 62, who works with refugee charities, was suspended in March after saying language used by the then home secretary Suella Braverman was "not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s".
