GLADIATOR Nitro hailed the Strictly wardrobe department after he squeezed his physique into sequin-studded spandex for the Christmas special.
The Team GB sprinter, whose real name is Harry AikinesAryeetey, said he was glad of the chance to try something different.
"I've got quite a few different outfits," he said. "It's nice to be able to wear something that's got some glitter or some sequins. The team in wardrobe are like mechanics." Nitro, 34, had suffered an injury prior to filming, which he hoped would not hinder his performance in the special to be broadcast on Christmas Day.
And having already gone from the athletics track to the Gladiators arena, as well as an appearance on Celebrity MasterChef, he backs himself to adapt to Strictly.
He added: "I can dance, I can enjoy myself, that's the important thing.
