GUN VICTIM BOXING GYM SHUT DOWN

AN EDINBURGH boxing gym owned by shooting victim Bradley Welsh is to close for good in December.

Holyrood Boxing Gym, which was opened by the Trainspotting T2 actor in 2005, has stayed open in honour of the 48-year-old who died after he was gunned down by a hitman on his own doorstep in 2019.

But his nephew Jake Welsh has posted a message on social media saying the gym will be shut before Christmas.

However, the team who run the gym, on Duddingston Road West, will do one last charity drive in honour of Bradley who was a huge charity fundraiser.

It's understood the closure is because, financially, the gym has become "unsustainable in the current climate".
