JAMES McAvoy has put a call out for music fans to appear in the movie he is making about two Scots who fooled the record industry into believing they were American rappers.

The Hollywood star is seeking extras for his directorial debut which will tell the extraordinary true story of former Dundee College students Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd.

The duo pretended to be from California after their Scottish accents were mocked by record company executives in London when they were trying to make a breakthrough as a hip-hop act. They reinvented themselves as US hiphoppers Silibil N' Brains and in 2004 landed a £35,000 record deal, appeared on MTV and supported Eminem.
