Hospital's £48k taxis bill is 'a total waste'

SCOTLAND’S flagship hospital has spent tens of thousands on taxis to deliver medicine and paperwork to patients.

Insiders say when someone is discharged from the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, staff often fail to have prescr ipt ions and paperwork ready before transport arrives to take them home.

They are sent home by ambulance then the paperwork or medication follows them a short time later by taxi.
