AN EVIL husband carried out a horrific car attack on his wife after she left him he felt because "embarrassed".
William Budge drove his vehicle straight at Sandra Budge and struck her, then returned to drive over his stricken victim again.
The attack was caught on video as police were called to the scene.
At the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday, first offender Budge, 62, admitted attempting to kill Sandra on April 14 last year and leaving her with horror injuries.
During the attack, he seized her by the body, tried to take her mobile phone and repeatedly attempted to force her into his car before driving directly at her, striking her, knocking her to the ground and driving over her.
He sped away but returned and drove the car over her again at Muirhouse Parkway in Edinburgh.
Budge, of the city's Silverknowes, also pled guilty to assaulting his victim on another occasion between April 2016 and April 2017 when he put his hands around her throat.
