I THOUGHT MY WIFE WAS DEAD

A HUSBAND has told how he feared his wife had been killed after a plant pot was thrown off a bridge before smashing into their car windscreen.

Mark and Amy Hourston were driving home on the A78 near the Eglinton roundabout in Irvine when the object was launched from an overpass on Tuesday.

Former Royal Marine Mark, 35, was able to steer the car onto the hard shoulder before rushing to his wife's aid after she was knocked out by the impact.

Amy, 31, from Stevenston, Ayrshire, suffered multiple serious injuries including a damaged clavicle bone, glass in her eye and several deep cuts across her face.
