FORMER Scotland boss George Burley has been diagnosed with cancer.
The 68-year-old, who managed the national football team between 2008 and 2009, confirmed the news in a statement issued through his former club, Ipswich Town.
Burley - who also managed the likes of Ayr United, Hearts, Derby County, Southampton and Crystal Palace said he fell ill earlier this year before treatment.
He has since received a diagnosis and said:
