TRAINSPOTTING author Irvine Welsh has lost two novels after spilling coffee on his laptop.
The writer had two manuscripts for upcoming books wiped from his computer after the mishap because he hadn't backed them up.
The spillage also saw the loss of a screenplay the 64-year-old was working on and his diary.
Edinburghborn Welsh said he was trying to see the funny side of the incident rather than beat himself up about it.
