AN ACTIVIST who claimed Israel had “exaggerated” the Holocaust has been blocked from speaking at a Scottish Parliament event on Gaza.
Pete Gregson was included on a provisional list of speakers for a Holyrood meeting today of the cross-party group on Palestine.
But the agenda for the event in Holyrood was swiftly changed after an organiser raised concerns over previous public remarks made by the former shop steward.
Gregson was expelled from the GMB union in late 2018 after claiming Israel was “a racist endeavour” that “exaggerates” the Holocaust for “political ends”.
The Edinburgh resident launched a failed appeal against the decision the following year.
Gregson is a long-term critic of the Israeli government on social media, but has stepped up his posts following the outbreak of violence in Gaza this month.
Hamas terrorists broke through a security cordon surrounding the Palestinian enclave on October 7 and killed more than 1400 Israelis.
